Gold Star Widow Myeshia Johnson: What Trump Said ‘Made Me Cry Even Worse,’ I Have Nothing to Say to Him

Trump ‘Couldn’t Remember My Husband’s Name’

Myeshia Johnson, the widow of U.S. Army Sgt. La David Johnson who was killed in Niger almost three weeks ago, is breaking her silence for the very first time. Her words are very powerful – including that there’s “nothing” she wants to say to President Trump.

Trump infamously told Mrs. Johnson that her husband “knew what he was getting in to.” She says his words caused her a lot of pain.

Monday morning Johnson told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos that President Trump’s words made her “very upset and hurt,” and “made me cry even worse.”

And she confirmed that what Democratic Rep. Frederica Wilson told reporters about Trump’s remarks was “not fabricated.”

What she said was 100 percent correct,” Johnson said.

And asked, “Is there anything you’d like to say to the president now?” Johnson took the high road, saying she has “nothing” to say to him.

Johnson makes clear the worst thing the president did was that he not say, and could not remember, her husband’s name.
