WATCH: Counter-Protesters Drown Out White Supremacist Neo-Nazis with Martin Luther King Jr’s ‘I Have A Dream’

‘White Lives Matter’ Participants Turn to Chanting Nazi Slogan

White Supremacist Neo-Nazis gathered Saturday in Tennessee with the intent of holding two “White Lives Matter” rallies—and although their second event was canceled, they were met with counter-protesters and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr during their first.

“Can’t really hear speech by prominent white supremacist Matthew Heimbach,” HuffPost reporter Christopher Mathias shared via Twitter. “Drowned out by recording of I HAVE A DREAM speech.”

Watch:

Dr. King’s famous and inspirational “I Have A Dream” speech was given on August 28, 1963—and is always worth a revisit.

At one point, the neo-Nazis turned to chanting Nazi slogan “Blood and Soil” in response to Dr. King’s beautiful words. Mathias captured this display as well:

The rally was held than three months after activist Heather Heyer was murdered by neo-Nazis in Charlottesville.

Following the tragic events that cost Heyer her life in August, the President of the United States refused to denounce white supremacism. He subsequently doubled down on his belief that violence occurred “on many sides.”
