US Senate Nominee Roy Moore Calls for Impeachment of Supreme Court Justices Who Support Same-Sex Marriage

‘Solve the Problem’ by Impeaching Just One Moore Says

Republican U.S. Senate nominee Roy Moore is calling for the impeachment of Supreme Court justices who support same-sex marriage. Moore in December will face Democrat Doug Jones in the Alabama special election to fill Jeff Session’s seat. He is currently leading in the polls by single digits.

“Somebody should be talking to the Supreme Court of the United States and say, ‘What gives them a right to declare that two men can get married?’” Moore rhetorically asked attendees at Friday’s Values Voter Summit luncheon, as Right Wing Watch’s Peter Montgomery reports.

President Donald Trump had addressed the ultra-conservative right wing audience, hosted by an anti-gay hate group, just hours earlier.

Montgomery reports Moore drew “a loud standing ovation,” and notes: “Moore not only opposes marriage equality; he believes same-sex relations should be illegal.”

The twice-former Alabama Supreme Court chief justice, booted for refusing to honor federal law, continued his attack on the SCOTUS justices.

“Tell the Congress,” he insisted, “Impeach these justices that put themselves above the Constitution. They’re judicial supremacists and they should be taken off the bench.” Montgomery reports Moore “then said impeaching one would ‘solve the problem.'”

Later, began a speech at the Values Voter Summit by reading what he said was a poem:

Moore also called for the repeal but not replacement of ObamaCare, and the building of Trump’s wall.

And he suggested that the recent major mass shootings happened because America has forgotten the foundations of its laws, which he previously has said come from God and the bible.

This was posted to his Twitter account just after he said it:

Moore concluded his speech by insisting that America cannot give up God.

“When you forget God, you forget politics. You forget your rights, your freedoms,” Moore told the audience.
