‘Are You High?’: Twitter Explodes as RNC Announces It Supports Roy Moore, Who Says Homosexuality Should Be Illegal

GOP Chairwoman Calls for Republicans to Send Alabama’s Roy Moore to the US Senate

The RNC is throwing its support to Roy Moore, the Republican U.S. Senate nominee for December’s special election in Alabama. Moore is running against Democrat Doug Jones. Polls show them neck and neck.

Late Wednesday morning Republican National Committee chair Ronna McDaniel announced the GOP’s support for the twice-booted former state Supreme Court chief justice.

Moore was tossed off the bench for refusing to honor the rule of law, after actions clearly in opposition to U.S. Supreme Court rulings. Moore has made clear by his actions his religious beliefs supersede his support for the constitution.

And Moore has also made clear he not only opposes the rights of LGBT people, including same-sex marriage, he thinks homosexuality should be illegal.

This is the Republican Party.

Asked on Monday about Moore’s anti-gay and anti-Muslim beliefs, President Donald Trump refused to denounce them. Instead, he announced he would be meeting with Moore next week.

The GOP chairwoman’s tweet supporting a candidate who explicitly dishonors the rule of law and the rights of Americans drew surprise and outrage.
