Internet Explodes After Trump Calls Gold Star Widow a Liar
‘There It Is. The President Now Accusing Myeshia Johnson, a Gold Star Widow, of Lying’
No one is off-limits to an attack from President Donald Trump, not even the Gold Star widow of a fallen soldier whose body was missing for two days.
Literally minutes after Myeshia Johnson told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos Monday morning that she has “nothing” to say to President Trump, that his words when he called her made her “very upset and hurt,” “made me cry even worse,” and the worst part was that Trump could not remember her husband’s name, the commander-in-Chief attacked her.
I had a very respectful conversation with the widow of Sgt. La David Johnson, and spoke his name from beginning, without hesitation!

Johnson, a mother of two who is expecting her third child, is the widow of U.S. Army Sgt. La David Johnson, who was killed in action in Niger. The circumstances surrounding his death, and why his body was missing for two days are under investigation.
President Trump has a history of repeatedly attacking Gold Star families. Without hesitation he went after Khizr and Ghazala Khan, who spoke against him the summer before the 2016 election.
On social media, many are expressing anger over the president’s attack:

What is it with Trump and Gold Star families of color?
I trust Myeshia Johnson. As far as I know, SHE has never lied to me.#MondayMorning pic.twitter.com/IL0ZP4pR2p

Well on one hand Trump has publicly attacked two Gold Star families/insulated POWs but on the other hand he stands for the national anthem

Now we have a POTUS who feels the need to defend every little thing, which includes calling a Gold Star widow a liar.

Some context for Trump v. Johnson:
-Attacked the Khans, Gold Star parents
-Mocked McCain for being “capturedâ€
