Trump Praises and Promotes Anti-Gay Pastor’s New Book: ‘A Wonderful Man!’

Robert Jeffress Linked Homosexuality to Pedophilia and Disease

Donald Trump’s pandering of the evangelical community continued late Friday, as the president took to Twitter to praise Christian extremist Robert Jeffress and use his position as president to promote the anti-gay megachurch pastor’s new book.

“Great book just out,” Trump wrote, “’A Place Called Heaven,’ by Dr. Robert Jeffress – a wonderful man!’

Trump has a longstanding history with Jeffress, the anti-gay, anti-Islam, anti-Jewish, anti-Mormon, anti-Catholic megachurch pastor who’s linked homosexuality to both pedophilia and disease.

In July, the president cost taxpayers at least $400,000 to headline his Celebrate Freedom Concert. It was at that event that Jeffress’ extremist megachurch choir premiered the “Make America Great Again” song amidst hymns in praise of the president.

Jeffress is also a Fox News contributor who has his own syndicated television show that appears on more than 1200 stations across the nation. He held a private service on Inauguration Day attended by Donald and Melania Trump, as well as Mike and Karen Pence.

Just last month, he said that the NFL players who are protesting racial injustice and police killings of African Americans should be “thanking God” they don’t get “shot in the head” for doing so.
