Trump Attacks ‘Politically Motivated Ingrates’ Criticizing ‘Amazing Work’ in Puerto Rico From Golf Course

(Not “Saturday Night Live”)

Donald Trump, on his 68th day at a golf course and 88th day at a Trump property since assuming the presidency, began his morning on Twitter by attacking the ‘fake news’ and ‘politically minded ingrates’ critical of federal response in Puerto Rico.

And while “Saturday Night Live” and its “parody” of the president returned late Saturday, this is real life.

The president tweeted over twenty times yesterday, beginning with an attack on San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz and “lazy” Puerto Ricans who want “everything to be done for them,” following it up with an attack on the free press and Democrats six hours later.

While he did pause at times to weigh in on the NFL and, oddly, the losing candidate he endorsed in Alabama’s GOP Primary, he primarily focused on Puerto Rico. At one point, the president urged Puerto Ricans without food, water or electricity not to “believe the Fake News!”

Now, the president has attacked anyone critical of the federal government’s response.

“We have done a great job with the almost impossible situation in Puerto Rico,” the president tweeted early Sunday. “Outside of the Fake News or politically motivated ingrates,…”

“…people are now starting to recognize the amazing work that has been done by FEMA and our great Military,” Trump continued. “All buildings now inspected… for safety. Thank you to the Governor of P.R. and to all of those working so closely with our First Responders. Fantastic job!”
