GOP Senator Responds to Trump Attack, Calls White House ‘Adult Day Care Center’

“Someone Obviously Missed Their Shift This Morning”

Donald Trump began his Sunday morning with an attack on Republican Senator Bob Corker—prompting the influential Senator to respond.

“Senator Bob Corker ‘begged’ me to endorse him for re-election in Tennessee,” the president tweeted. “I said ‘NO’ and he dropped out (said he could not win without…”

“..my endorsement). He also wanted to be Secretary of State, I said ‘NO THANKS,’” Trump continued literally ten minutes later. “He is also largely responsible for the horrendous Iran Deal!”

“…Hence, I would fully expect Corker to be a negative voice and stand in the way of our great agenda,” he concluded. “Didn’t have the guts to run!”

The attack is seemingly a response to Corker’s comments crediting Trump’s top advisors, including Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis, and White House Chief of Staff John Kelly, with helping to “separate our country from chaos.”

From the podium on Friday, Sarah Huckabee Sanders attempted to refute that claim, advising that Trump is in fact “keeping the world from chaos.”

Corker, the chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee who announced recently he would not seek re-election, fired back on Sunday morning.

“It’s a shame the White House has become an adult day care center,” he tweeted. “Someone obviously missed their shift this morning.”

According to press pool reports, Donald Trump arrived early Sunday at his golf club in Virginia—his 70th visit to a golf course and 90th visit to a Trump property since assuming the presidency in January.
