Doctor and Ultra-Conservative Republican Former US Senator: Trump Has a ‘Personality Disorder’

‘We Have a Leader Who Has a Personality Disorder’

Respected Republican Senators who no longer have to face voters at the ballot boxes are finally speaking out against what they see as a threat to their party and the nation. Senator Bob Corker of Tennessee, now a top Trump target on Twitter, has made clear his anti-Trump views, stating Trump’s legacy will be the “debasement of our nation.” Senator Jeff Flake of Arizona received tremendous praise from many on the left this week after delivering a strong speech on the Senate floor denouncing Trump and his enablers.

And in a New York Times article Wednesday, retired U.S. Senator Tom Coburn of Oklahoma, ranked during his tenure as the fourth-most conservative Republican in the Senate, delivered his opinion of President Donald Trump. Given his status as a medical doctor, it carries weight.

“We have a leader who has a personality disorder,” Coburn told the Times. Sadly, Coburn thinks Trump’s “done what he actually told the people he was going to do, and they’re not going to abandon him.”

About 15 percent of Americans have various forms of personality disorders. Trump’s medical doctor’s report did not list any medications used to treat them.

Raw Story‘s Brad Reed notes “many psychological professionals believe the president is a ‘textbook case’ of narcissistic personality disorder, as evidenced by his inflated sense of self, his constant need for admiration, and his seeming lack of empathy for others.”

Newsweek adds the “Duty to Warn PAC, an organization of psychologists, believes Trump has a personality disorder called malignant narcissism based on ‘concrete, observable traits’ that show a ‘pervasive pattern’ of exploiting and violating the rights of others.”
