Multiple people have been run downing possibly shot in Manhattan, near the World Trade Center and TriBeCa areas downtown. The NYPD says one person is in custody and it appears the police do not believe any others were involved.
MSNBC reports eight people are dead.
A van or box truck reportedly rented from Home Depot drove onto the bike path and ran people over.

MSNBC reports at least 6 people are dead and is calling this “an intentional act.”

NBC News reports 15 people injured. MSNBC says the Joint Terrorism Taskforce is now involved.

MSNBC reports event is being investigated as a terrorism incident, does not state it is terrorism.

Suspect in custody is male in his 30’s, says MSNBC.
