Trump Tweets Total Lie Attacking Democratic Candidate for Governor of Virginia, Candidate Responds
Trump Endorses Republican Losing by Double-Digits
President Donald Trump late Thursday night tweeted a total lie about Ralph Northam, the Democratic candidate for governor of Virginia. Northam, a veteran, a physician, and the current Lt. Governor, decided to respond with a short but effective tweet.Â
Trump accused the Lt. Governor of fighting to support MS-13, an L.A. based international criminal gang, and fighting to support sanctuary cities. Both claims are baseless, made even more embarrassing for the president since there are no sanctuary cities in Virginia (even if there should be.)
Ralph Northam, who is running for Governor of Virginia,is fighting for the violent MS-13 killer gangs & sanctuary cities. Vote Ed Gillespie!

Rather than get embroiled in the weeds of Trump’s ridiculous accusation, Northam responded, short and sweet, via Twitter:
TBH I’ve been expecting this. Donate here: https://t.co/T4ZQ2DqdoQ https://t.co/zfVDqovfgY
— Ralph Northam (@RalphNortham) October 6, 2017
Clearly Northam is a level-headed leader who’s focused on the end game, not trivial pursuit.
The latest poll shows Northam with a 13-point lead against his GOP opponent, Ed Gillespie. The Real Clear Politics average gives Northam an average of a 5.9 percentage point lead.
Virginia is also the only Southern state than did not go for Trump. Clinton beat Trump in Virginia by 5.4 points. President Barack Obama won the state in 2012 by 3.9 points.Â
It’s unclear why Trump is endorsing Gillespie, but he has a history of endorsing the losing candidate, like Luther Strange who lost the GOP Senatorial nomination to “Judge” Roy Moore.
