‘I Am Able To Go Bing, Bing, Bing’: Trump Defends Twitter Tantrums (Video)
Credits Social Media For PresidencyÂ
Donald Trump on Sunday took his 75th trip to one of his golf properties since assuming the presidency, but in a pre-recorded “interview,†defended his social media habits.
Speaking with Maria Bartiromo of Fox Business Network for “Sunday Morning Futures,†the president discussed a myriad of issues before the host turned to Trump’s frequent Twitter usage.
“Do you ever feel like sometimes some of your unscripted tweets, your unscripted comments, get in the way of the larget message?†Bartiromo asked. “I’ve spoken with a lot of supporters of yours, and while they love the policies, they say, ‘We feel like we’re always defending something that he said that he didn’t really mean to say that way.’ Do you think that’s getting in the way of your agenda?â€
“It’s such an interesting question,†Trump responded, noting that he has friends who encourage him not to use social media. “See, I don’t call it ‘tweets.’ Tweeting is like a typewriter.â€
“When I put it out, you put it immediately on your show,†he continued. “You know, they’re well-crafted, I was always a good student… I’m like, a person who does well with that kind of thing.â€
“I doubt I’d be here if it weren’t for social media, to be honest with you,†Trump lamented. “Because there is a fake media out there. I get treated very unfairly by the media, and I have a tremendous platform… I have a tremendous platform. So when somebody says something about me, I’m able to go ‘bing, bing, bing’ and I take care of it.â€Â
