Trump Delivers Speech Calling Las Vegas Mass Shooting ‘Act of Pure Evil’
President to Travel to Las Vegas Wednesday
President Donald Trump called the late Sunday night massacre in Las Vegas that killed more than 50 people and injured more than 400 an “act of pure evil.” He opened his remarks by saying, “we are joined together today in sadness, shock and grief.” The president delivered his very brief remarks late Monday morning from from the Diplomatic Reception Room of the White House.

The President praised the first responders, who are credited with quick action and saving hundreds of lives.

About 22,000 were in the concert area and the suspect was shooting from a hotel room on the 32nd floor, reportedly with a fully automatic machine gun.
Trump said he will travel to Las Vegas on Wednesday, and has directed flags to be flown at half-staff. He is also slated to visit Puerto Rico on Tuesday.
