White House Now Says Trump’s DACA Decision Will Be Announced Tuesday – Refuses to Say if DREAMers Are Americans

‘I’m Not Going to Get Into the Back and Forth’ Press Secretary Says

Sarah Huckabee Sanders has just announced that the White House will announce President Trump’s decision on keeping or killing DACA on Tuesday. She also refused to answer any questions about the program or the president’s thinking on undocumented immigrants, including on whether or not he thinks they are Americans.

The Press Secretary’s remarks at the daily briefing come about one hour after President Trump was asked the same question and gave an entirely different answer.

“Sometime today or over the weekend we’ll have a decision,” Trump told reporters. “We’ll issue it sometime over the weekend, maybe this afternoon,” Trump said seconds later.

“Will be releasing on DACA sometime over the weekend, probably Sunday, Saturday; latest will be Monday,” Trump said minutes earlier.

Huckabee Sanders was asked by a reporter if President Trump believes DREAMers – undocumented immigrants who were brought to the United States as children by their parents – are Americans.

“Does the president feel that young people that came to this country illegally, who came of age here, who have jobs here, went to school here – are those people Americans?”

“I’m not going to get into the back and forth while we’re in the process of finalizing the details on this,” she responded, refusing to answer the very key question.
