Watch: Massive Protests Erupt Across the Country After Trump Kills DACA

Students Also Protest on First Day of Back-to-School

Massive protests are erupting across the country in response to President Donald Trump’s decision to end DACA, a program that protect undocumented immigrants from deportation.

Late Tuesday morning Attorney General Jeff Sessions made the announcement, in a speech tinged with tones of nativism, and filled with twisted truths implying DREAMers bring crime, violence, and even terrorism to America’s shores.

In Washington, D.C., at the White House at Trump’s famous hotel, and bravely at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) headquarters, protestors are denouncing the decision.

In New York City, at Trump Tower, there’s a sit-in that at one point was blocking Fifth Avenue.

And, as The Independent reports, on what for many is the first day of back-to-school, hundreds of students in Denver and  Albuquerque are walking out to protest Trump’s decision and to support DREAMers.

Waving signs that say “Defend DREAMers,” and “Here to Stay,” protestors are chanting “No DACA, no peace,” and “Sí se puede” – roughly, “Yes, we can.”
