Watch: Hillary Clinton Says Donald Trump Poses ‘A Clear and Present Danger’ to America

‘I Think This President and Some of the People Around Him Pose a Clear and Present Danger to Our Country’

Hillary Clinton is warning Americans that their president poses “a clear and present danger” to the nation. The former Democratic presidential nominee sat down with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow Thursday evening to discuss the Trump administration, Russia, and her new book about the 2016 election, What Happened.

“I’m hoping that on the really big issues there’s enough authority to be able to restrain and contain the president,” Clinton told Maddow. “That’s what we all have to hope because I think this president and some of the people around him pose a clear and present danger to our country.”

Clinton and Maddow had been discussing North Korea, with Clinton saying that President Donald Trump needs to “get over the Twitter stuff,” and verbal threats against Pyongyang because it’s harming any chance for a diplomatic resolution to the ever-increasing nuclear threat posed by Kim Jong-un.

An Obama-era Secretary of State, Clinton knows the topic likely better than almost anyone in the world.

After saying Trump poses a danger, she detailed the threat.

“Domestically, to our institutions of democracy, our self-governance, our rule of law,” she charged. Internationally, Clinton criticized Trump for having “no strategy plan” for diplomacy, just a “reactive, emotional, visceral kind of behavior.”

Clinton added that “this country of ours is really worth defending and protecting.”
