Trump: ‘Would Be Great if Something Else Could Be Worked Out’ Instead of War With North Korea – But ‘Could Happen’

‘North Korea Is Behaving Badly, and It’s Got to Stop’

President Trump says war with North Korea “could happen,” but it “would be great if something else could be worked out,” instead of military action. Trump, speaking at a joint press conference from the White House with Kuwait’s Amir al-Sabah, said that while “nothing is inevitable,” he would prefer to not go the route of military action.

Trump then moved to his default stance of a hardliner, telling reporters “it would be a sad day for North Korea” if he decides to use military force. “Our military has never been stronger,” Trump added.

“Each day new equipment is delivered, new and beautiful equipment – the best in the world – the best anywhere in the world, by far. Hopefully we’re not going to have to use it on North Korea, if we do use it on North Korea, it will be a very sad day for North Korea.”
