Trump’s Official POTUS Account Retweets First Lady’s Anti-Bullying Speech, Trump’s Personal Account Does Not

‘No Child Should Ever Feel Hungry, Stalked, Frightened, Terrorized, Bullied or Afraid With Nowhere to Turn’ Melania Trump Says

President Donald Trump, it is widely believed, controls his personal @RealDonaldTrump Twitter account, usually writing and posting the tweets himself. Occasionally he will dictate to an assistant but one way or another it’s all Donald.

But the White House Communications team is believed to control the official @POTUS Twitter account, and that became glaringly obvious Thursday afternoon.

First Lady Melania Trump delivered a short speech Wednesday at a United Nations luncheon to first spouses of world leaders. The focus: ending bullying and following the “Golden Rule” of treating others how you wish to be treated.

The irony was palpable, with people on social media suggesting she start with her husband, a consummate bully who happens to be the president of the United States.

On Thursday, President Trump had still not even acknowledged the First Lady’s speech, although he had plenty of time to tweet about his meetings with several foreign leaders, his support (and the NRA’s) for his preferred GOP senatorial candidate in the Alabama race, his support for Graham-Cassidy – the latest, and most despicable version of TrumpCare – and even a kind message to the people of Puerto Rico.

The First Lady’s efforts to protect children and end bullying, especially online bullying, appear to have gone undetected by President Trump, for one reason or another. As of this writing he has not tweeted about her speech, although the official @POTUS account has (see above).

Here’s the tweet @POTUS retweeted that @RealDonaldTrump has not:
