‘Virtually No President Has Accomplished What We Have Accomplished’ Trump Also Claims
Clearly aware of the news Facebook is handing over to Congress and Special Counsel Robert Mueller 3000 ads bought by Russia to help him win the White House, President Donald Trump Wednesday morning struck back. He is accusing Facebook, along with The New York Times, The Washington Post, and the TV news networks of all being “anti-Trump” and, therefore, colluding against him.
It is at best an illogical argument, and one that is clearly false.Â
“Facebook was always anti-Trump.The Networks were always anti-Trump hence,Fake News, @nytimes(apologized) & @WaPo were anti-Trump. Collusion?” Trump tweeted.
Facebook was not “anti-Trump,” Facebook is a platform. But Russia bought ads on Facebook clearly designed to help Trump win the White House, he knows it, and that’s why he’s posting this tweet now.
The president also repeated his frequent lie that The Times had “apologized” for their coverage of him. They never have. The Times after the election wrote readers an open letter rededicating themselves to their high journalistic standards.
“But the people were Pro-Trump!” the President continued tweeting. “Virtually no President has accomplished what we have accomplished in the first 9 months-and economy roaring.”
While the economy is doing well, it is not the result of any Trump policy but of the work the Obama administration did before Trump, along with astounding hubris by the stock markets who have yet to fully realize nothing Trump says he will do has come to pass.Â
Trump has not had a single legislative victory in his eight (not nine) months as President. If that’s what he calls “no President has accomplished what we have accomplished,” on that point he’s correct.
