More Than Half of All Americans See Trump as Unfit – Vast Majority of Millennials Really Disapprove

Six Out of Ten Americans Say Trump Is Doing More to Divide the Country Than Bring It Together

Two separate new polls released Wednesday by Quinnipiac University and NBC/MSNBC News show most Americans not only disapprove of Donald Trump’s performance as president, but more than half deem him unfit to occupy the office.

The polling results released by Quinnipiac University reveal that over half (56%) of the American voters surveyed say that Trump is “not fit” for the office of president. It also gives him a disapproval rating  of 57 – 36 percent on his job performance. (That number includes 57 percent of independents and 94 percent of Democrats.)

The exception, according to Quinnipiac researchers, is that a considerable majority of Republican voters surveyed, 84 percent, said  he is fit for the office.

NBC/MSNBC news reported its latest polling on Trump’s approval rating among millennial voters showed that overall, the president has a 64% disapproval rating, and a 21% approval among millennials. He fares even worse with African Americans (79% disapproval, 13% approval), Asian Americans (78%-11%) and Latinos (77%-11%).

Trump did fare slightly better among whites, with 53% disapproval and 30% approval ratings.

The poll surveys Millennials, which it defines as adults age 18-34, in various demographics, and was previewed on MSNBC’s Morning Joe.

Overall, when considering factors related to race, Trump’s job performance on race relations showed that 94% of African-Americans surveyed disapproved of Trump’s handling of race relations as president, compared to 66% of Hispanics surveyed.

Both polls show that nearly six out of ten Americans say Trump is doing more to divide the country than bring it together. Just over half, 51 percent, said they are “embarrassed” by Trump’s presidency.
