Melania Trump Condemns Bullying at UN Luncheon – Internet Explodes

First Lady Urges World Leaders to ‘Live by and Honor the Golden Rule’

Exactly 24 hours after her husband mocked Kim Jong-un as “Rocket Man,” threatening to “totally destroy” every man, woman, and child in North Korea, and denounced several other world leaders – including his predecessor – Melania Trump delivered a speech at a United Nations luncheon denouncing bullying.

“We must remember that they are watching and listening,” the First Lady, speaking of children, told attendees, mostly the first spouses of other world leaders. “When we come together as parents, we claim responsibility to the next generation.”

She encouraged world leaders to teach children by example to “live by and honor the Golden Rule: do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

“We must turn our focus right now to the message and content” children are “exposed to on a daily basis through social media, the bullying, the experience online, and in person, and the growing global epidemic of drug addiction and drug overdose.”

“Whether it is drug addiction, bullying, poverty, disease, trafficking, illiteracy, or hunger, it is the children who are hit first and hardest in any country,” the First Lady continued. “Nothing could be more urgent nor worthy a cause than preparing future generations for the adulthood with true moral clarity and responsibility.”

“We must teach our children the values of empathy and communication that are at the core of kindness, mindfulness, integrity, and leadership which can only be taught be example,” she said.

Just days before the election Mrs. Trump delivered a rare speech and announced she would take up the fight against bullying, especially online bullying, as her cause. But that plan ended even before she moved into White House in June.

As recently as this past weekend President Donald Trump posted to Twitter a doctored GIF showing him hitting a golf ball and striking Hillary Clinton.

The amazing tone-deafness and hypocrisy of the woman married to one of the world’s foremost bullies delivering a speech attacking bullying and asking world leaders to live by the golden rule, was not lost on many:
