Jared Kushner Used Private Email Account to Conduct Official Government Business – Anger Grows Over Security Clearance

Trump Won White House in Large Part Over Clinton’s Use of Private Email

White House senior advisor to the president and the president’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, used a private email account to conduct official government business, according to a report in Politico. Kushner’s wife Ivanka Trump, an advisor to the president, also has an account on that same domain set up for the Kushner family, but it is not believed she used it for official government business.

The New York Times’ Maggie Haberman reports the use of private email accounts runs rampant in the Trump administration.

Private email accounts for official business were also used by Steve Bannon, Reince Priebus, and National Economic Council director Gary Cohn, and spokesman Josh Raffel.

President Trump won the White House in large part over the use of private email by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. He presided over daily chants of “lock her up!” and even told her if he became president she would go to jail.

“Private email traffic among White House aides — some of it sent between personal email accounts rather than to or from government addresses — could skirt the requirements of the Presidential Records Act, which requires all documents related to the president’s personal and political activities to be archived,” Politico notes.

This latest revelation in Kushner’s record follows a long line of disturbing choices. Even before becoming an official member of the Trump administration Kushner tried to set up a secret back channel with Russia. There are some who question if he colluded with Russia in the targeting of Americans via Facebook fake news and ads.

Kushner also left off more than one hundred foreign contacts from his security disclosure forms – which is a prosecutable offense. 

Calls grow stronger for Kushner’s security clearance to be revoked.
