#TrumpsAWhiteSupremacist Is Now Trending on Twitter

Americans Are Increasingly Reaching the Conclusion Their President Is a White Supremacist

Thanks to New York Times opinion writer Charles M. Blow #TrumpsAWhiteSupremacist is now trending on Twitter. On Monday the commentator published a piece titled, “Is Trump a White Supremacist?” that concludes: “If you are not completely opposed to white supremacy, you are quietly supporting it.”

Blow makes clear he does not think splitting hairs is necessary.

“Either Trump is himself a white supremacist or he is a fan and defender of white supremacists, and I quite honestly am unable to separate the two designations,” Blow writes. “If you are not completely opposed to white supremacy, you are quietly supporting it. If you continue to draw equivalencies between white supremacists and the people who oppose them — as Trump did once again last week — you have crossed the racial Rubicon and moved beyond quiet support to vocal support.”

Last week, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders – twice – called for the firing of ESPN reporter Jemele Hill, who had tweeted: “Donald Trump is a white supremacist who has largely surrounded himself w/ other white supremacists.”

But Blow says that Trump’s Twitter response, demanding ESPN apologize for the “untruth” had “changed the conversation” from an inappropriate response from the White House, to whether or not Trump is a white supremacist.

Huckabee Sanders calling for Hill’s firing was the last straw for many journalists and many others, who last week were only too happy to reveal they believe “Trump is a white supremacist.”

And now, many are making #TrumpsAWhiteSupremacist trend and go viral – take a look:
