‘Stick to Politics’: NBA, NFL Stars Take on ‘Bum’ Trump Following Kaepernick, Curry Attacks
‘Going to the White House was an Honor Before You Showed Up!’
Pro-athletes and representatives of the NFL and NBA are speaking out against Donald Trump’s recent attacks on Colin Kaepernick and Stephen Curry.
Late Friday, the president called NFL quarterback Kaepernick a “son of a b*tch” for protesting racism and the oppression of people of color by taking a knee instead of standing for the National Anthem. Â
This morning, the president turned his ire from football to basketball, lashing out at the NBA’s Stephen Curry, a guard for the championship Golden State Warriors – withdrawing an invitation to the White House that Curry didn’t want.
Both the NFL commissioner and the Executive Director for the NFL’s Players Association spoke out against Trump’s “divisive†attack on Kaepernick – and now other NFL and NBA players are following suit.
Gaining particular traction, NBA Cleveland Cavaliers’ champion LeBron James:Â
“U bum,†James wrote,†[Stephen Curry] already said he ain’t going! So therefore ain’t no invite. Going to the White House was a great honor until you showed up!â€

The Houston Rockets’ Chris Paul, also head of the NBA Players Association:

And I doubt he’s man enough to call any of those players a son of a bitch to their face…

— Bradley Beal (@RealDealBeal23) September 23, 2017
ESPN reporter Jemele Hill, who also drew the president’s ire after she called him a white supremacist, which Sarah Huckabee Sanders called a “fireable offense†from the White House podium, had this to add:
You know the NBA is lit when this isn’t even the biggest story of the day https://t.co/GCjtgxyOMs
