‘Art of the Deal’ Co-Author Says ‘No Way’ Trump Keeps Promise to Donate $1 Million of His Money to Harvey Victims
Will Trump Keep His Promise?
The man co-wrote The Art of The Deal says there is no way Donald Trump will keep his promise to donate $1 million of his own money to victims of Hurricane Harvey. And given past performance, Tony Schwartz may be right.
Schwartz is said to know Trump better than anyone else outside of the Trump family. Before the election he warned America who the real Donald Trump is, and was threaten by Trump’s attorneys as a result.Â
On Friday, Schwartz took to Twitter to say there’s “no way” Trump donates the $1 million.
No way Trump donates $1m of own money to Harvey victims. He only promises to give. Never actually does.

He also says Trump might not even be able to:
Is it possible Trump doesn’t have $1 million in cash and can’t afford that promised contribution to victims of storm? Wouldn’t surprise me.

Schwartz also notes Trump’s history of promising to donate but tyhen not following through, which are legendary, and have also been documented by The Washington Post.
Has Trump ever made good on a public promise to give to a charity? Said he would donate all Art of Deal royalties and never gave a penny.

And he adds that special counsel Robert Mueller may find Trump’s guarded secret:
One thing Mueller will likely find: Trump is worth VASTLY less than he says. More debt, less cash. He’s desperate not to have that exposed.

Here’s Schwartz talking with Bill Maher, calling Trump a “sociopath”:
Meanwhile, the White House is walking back its claim the money Trump has promised to donate will be from his personal fortune. As ThinkProgress noted, on Thursday White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporter the funds would be coming from the president’s “personal money.†But on Friday, asked by a reporter “if she knew whether Trump’s donation would be ‘coming from his own money or from the Trump Foundation,’ Sanders dodged.”
“I haven’t had a chance to do that,†she said, suggesting she hadn’t yet had a chance to ask the president where the money would be coming from.
And Raw Story adds that Trump cannot donate from the Trump Foundation, “because it’s under investigation.” Â
“It’s my understanding that [the Trump Foundation] can’t make donations now, while it’s under investigation by NY AG,â€Â Washington Post‘s David Farenthold tweeted Friday night.
Will Trump keep his promise?
Time will tell.
