“Unite the Right” rally organizer and white nationalist Jason Kessler was attacked and chased from the steps of Charlottesville’s City Hall on Sunday afternoon.

Kessler was attempting to hold a press conference in the city, still reeling from the death of counter-protestor Heather Heyer and the presence of white nationalist neo-Nazis, when citizens quickly drowned him out.

An unnamed White House spokesperson condemned white supremacy in a statement emailed to Trump’s traveling press pool on Sunday following the president’s silence.
