Watch: Trump Uses White House Veterans Health Event to Tease ‘Very Big Announcement’ at Tonight’s Campaign Rally

‘I Believe I’ll Be Making It in West Virginia, So That Will Be Very Exciting’

President Donald Trump spent about 11 minutes participating in a Dept.of Veterans Affairs health event late Thursday morning, but used it to plug a “very big announcement” he’ll be making at a campaign rally in West Virginia Thursday evening.

“We’re going to West Virginia tonight, by the way,” Trump said at the conclusion of the event, an announcement of a telehealth services program. “We’re going to have a very big announcement, which will be very exciting I think for the media and everyone else,” Trump said, from the White House.

“But we have a very big announcement tonight. I believe I’ll be making it in West Virginia, so that’ll be very exciting,” the president said, just before noon.

The president also tweeted out details on how to attend the event:

Trump is running for re-election, and these are official campaign events. It’s unclear what protocol calls for in mixing his duties in the White House and his campaign re-election efforts. Trump today was plagued by the leak of transcripts of his calls with the heads of Mexico and Australia, during which he disparaged America.

The last time Trump was in West Virginia was just last week, when he delivered a very politicized and highly inappropriate speech to the Boy Scouts, for which its chief executive was forced to apologize.

Many weighed in with their own thoughts about tonight’s event:
