White House Refuses to Admit That if Trump Kills DACA He Isn’t Treating Immigrants ‘With Heart’ as Promised

‘Final Decision on That Front Has Not Been Made’ Sarah Huckabee Sanders Claims

Sarah Huckabee Sanders once again has proven just how far out of the loop she is, and just can’t bring herself to admit that cancelling DACA is not treating immigrants “with heart,” as President Trump promised he would.

Fox News reported Thursday afternoon that Trump will end DACA, an Obama-era program designed to protect “DREAMERS,” undocumented immigrated who entered the U.S. before they became 16 years old. The Fox News report, based on reporting by journalist John Roberts, stated Trump would make the announcement as soon as Friday.

Repeatedly asked about the report, the White House Thursday afternoon repeatedly refused to verify it, insisting there are many moving parts and no decision has been made.

First up, White House homeland security adviser Tom Bossert:

Next, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, saying, “In terms of DACA, echoing again on what Tom [Bossert, above] said earlier, final decision on that front has not been made and when it is, we will certainly inform everybody in this room.”

And here’s SHS once again: “I’m not going to get ahead of something and be presumptuous when a decision hasn’t been made,” Huckabee Sanders told reporters. “It would be disingenuous for me to create a false timeline.”

As Raw Story reported, Huckabee Sanders was asked, “Would rescinding DACA be treating DREAMers with heart?”

Trump early in the year had said, “I love kids,” when asked about DACA, and promised to treat young undocumented immigrants “with heart.” He also told them directly, “They shouldn’t be very worried.”

The White House Press Secretary responded, “I’m not going to get into a back and forth until a decision had been made.”

If it weren’t so disingenuous perhaps she would deserve a pass. But Huckabee Sanders repeatedly has told the media one thing, only to have it come back as false hours or even less, later.
