Trump Tells Missouri to Vote Out Democratic Senator if She Doesn’t Support His Tax Cuts

‘Your Senator Claire McCaskill She Must Do This for You’

In an official taxpayer-funded White House trip to Missouri President Donald Trump told his audience to vote out of office Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill if she refuses to support his tax cuts. The President mentioned the Senator by name in his speech Wednesday afternoon.

“Your Senator, Claire McCaskill, she must do this for you, and if she doesn’t do it for you, you have to vote her out of office,” Trump said.

“She’s going to make that commitment,” he demanded. “We just can’t do this anymore with the obstruction and the obstructionists. The Dems are looking to obstruct tax cuts and tax reform.”

Minutes later, he decried partisan politics.

“Let’s put, or at least try to put, the partisan posturing behind us,” Trump urged.

Senator McCaskill is up for re-election next year.

It is a stunningly partisan attack, paid for by taxpayers, by the leader of a nation that is currently struggling to find ways to support the victims of Hurricane, and now Tropical Storm, Harvey. Millions have been displaced, and just minutes ago police confirmed that among the approximately 20 victims are a family of six who were washed away in their vehicle.

Former Senior Advisor to President Obama, Dan Pfeiffer, suggested that Trump’s comments violate federal law:

There actually is no Trump tax plan. Months ago the White House promised it would put one together but recently said it would rely on Republicans in Congress to produce one.
