Watch: Trump Again Says ‘There’s Blame on Both Sides’ – ‘What About the Alt-Left?’

‘I Think There’s Blame on Both Sides and I Have No Doubt About It’

President Donald Trump has just reverted back to his “on many sides” remarks from Saturday. In a press event Tuesday afternoon, barely more than 24 hours after he finally denounced white supremacists by name, Trump once again blamed “both sides” for the white supremacist violence and murder in Charlottesville.

“What about the alt-left that came charging at the alt-right,” Trump asked reporters when asked about his remarks on Saturday’s violence.

“What about the fact that they came charging?” he asked. “Do they have any problem? I think they do.”

He insisted there is “blame on both sides” and accused the media of refusing to report it accurately.

“I’m not finished fake news,” he accused at one point.

“You had a group on one side that was bad, and you had a group on the other side that was also very violent,” Trump said, cementing his “both sides” argument.

“I think there’s blame on both sides and I have no doubt about it,” Trump said.

“George Washington was a slave owner,” Trump said. “What about Thomas Jefferson – you like him?”

“You’re changing history, you’re changing culture,” Trump said.

“There were people in that rally,” Trump said, “protesting very quietly, the taking down the statue of Robert E. Lee.”

UPDATE I: 4:35 PM –

MSNBC’s Kelly O’Donnell just said this photo was taken at the moment Trump lost it. This is his new Chief of Staff, arms folded, looking down, in disgust.
