LISTEN: Chuck Norris Endorses Anti-Gay Religious Extremist Judge Roy Moore for US Senate

Moore Has a ‘Spine of Steel’ Says Norris

Famous actor and right wing political activist Chuck Norris has recorded what sounds like a programmed robocall endorsing Roy Moore. The disgraced former Alabama State Supreme Court Chief Justice is running in a three-way Republican primary race to fill the U.S. Senate seat vacated when President Trump nominated Jeff Sessions to be Attorney General.

“Judge Roy Moore is the real deal,” Norris says in the audio (above, posted to Moore’s Facebook page but not Norris’.) “He’s tough, tested, and has a spine of steel.”

“Judge Moore has never backed down from standing for what is right, and that’s exactly what he’ll do in the U.S Senate. That’s why the Washington establishment is spending millions trying to defeat Judge Moore.”

“Judge Moore,” as the far right wing religious zealot likes to be called, is the only person in history to be removed twice from his elected position as Chief Justice. The first time involved Moore’s refusal to remove from public grounds that include the Alabama Supreme Court a weighty stone statue of the Ten Commandments. The second (when he technically was suspended for the remainder of his term) involved a letter he sent to all probate judges in the state directing them to not issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, months after the U.S. Supreme Court had ruled marriage is a civil right.

Moore is the leading candidate in the race right now.

“I stood up for the Constitution,” and God, Moore told a small gathering when he announced his Senate run in late April. He also told supporters the U.S. Supreme Court “destroyed” the “sacred institution of marriage.” It’s unclear how he could take the oath of office as a U.S. Senator.

AL.com reports. Moore has 30 percent of the vote, with Luther Strange (appointed by disgraced Alabama GOP Gov. Robert Bentley to the seat) at 22%, and U.S. Rep. Mo Brooks with just 19%. The primary is August 15.

CNN adds that “if no candidate receives at least 50% of the vote — as GOP operatives say is likely — then a runoff between the top two candidates will be held September 26, with the victor facing the Democratic nominee in the general election December 12.”

Given the current state of Alabama politics, it’s likely a Republican would win over a Democrat.

Last year, before losing his job as Chief Justice, Moore slammed his critics as “atheists, homosexuals and transgender individuals.”
