Trump Associate Bragged ‘I Will Get Putin on This Program and We Will Get Donald Elected’

‘I Arranged for Ivanka to Sit in Putins Private Chair at His Desk and Office in the Kremlin’

A man whose business card used to read “senior adviser to Donald Trump,” just two years ago bragged to Trump’s personal attorney that he would get the Manhattan billionaire elected president, and said the key was to get Vladimir Putin “on this program.”

The New York Times reports Monday that Felix Sater “wrote a series of emails to Mr. Trump’s lawyer, Michael Cohen, in which he boasted about his ties to Mr. Putin and predicted that building a Trump Tower in Moscow would be a political boon to Mr. Trump’s candidacy.”

Late Sunday night The Washington Post reported that Sater had tried to broker a deal for a “massive” Trump Tower in Moscow – as Donald Trump himself was running for president.

“Our boy can become president of the USA and we can engineer it,” Sater told Cohen in a series of emails, the Times reports. “I will get all of Putins [sic] team to buy in on this, I will manage this process.”

In a screenshot of one of the emails, the Times shows that Sater told Cohen, “I will get Putin on this program and we will get Donald elected.”

“Buddy our boy can become President of the USA and we can engineer it,” the Sater email continues.

As proof of just how influential Sater was, he told Cohen of a 2006 trip to Moscow he took with Trump’s daughter Ivanka: “I arranged for Ivanka to sit in Putins private chair at his desk and office in the Kremlin,” he bragged. The Times describes Sater as “a broker for the Trump Organization at the time, which means he was paid to deliver real estate deals.”

The Washington Post reports Sater “served time in jail after assaulting a man with the stem of a broken margarita glass during a 1991 bar fight and then pleaded guilty in 1998 to his role in an organized- crime-linked stock fraud.”

The BBC reports that “In the late 1990s, Mr Sater was arrested for a $40m Wall Street scam involving four Mafia families. He gave evidence against the Mafia, pleaded guilty and the FBI kept his role secret.”

UPDATE: ABC News reports Cohen confirmed Donald Trump personally signed a letter of intention to move forward with the Trump Tower Moscow project, four months after he had begun campaigning for president.
