WATCH: On Foreign Soil Trump Attacks CNN, NBC as ‘Fake News’ While Boasting About ‘The Apprentice’

‘I Made Them a Fortune With The Apprentice but They Seem to Have Forgotten That’

There are many unwritten rules President Donald Trump has obliterated, but what he just did while in a foreign country is astonishing. President Trump has never accepted his own promise to be the president of all Americans, but when the President of the United States is traveling in foreign lands, he or she has an obligation to do just that.

While speaking to reporters at a joint press conference in Warsaw with the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, President Trump bashed the American press — specifically, CNN and NBC News — as “fake news.”

It’s bad enough he does it while in the U.S., but to repeat those lies on foreign soil, to attack Americans and American enterprises while representing America to the rest of the world is beyond the pale.

Asked about CNN’s article on the Reddit user who created the violent meme of Trump beating up “CNN,” which the president posted to Twitter this past weekend, and their decision to “reserve the right” to reveal his name in the future, Trump decided to attack.

“What CNN did was unfortunate for them, as you know now they have some pretty serious problems now. They have been ‘fake news’ for a long time, covering me in a very dishonest way,” Trump said Thursday morning in Poland, as Buzzfeed reported.

“NBC is equally as bad, despite the fact I made them a fortune with ‘The Apprentice,’ but they seem to have forgotten that,” he added. “But CNN has taken it too seriously, and I think they’ve hurt themselves very, very badly.”

“What we want to see in the United States is an honest, beautiful — but honest — free press. We don’t want fake news, not everyone is fake news. But we don’t want fake news. Bad thing. Very bad for our country.”
