Twitter Mocks Trump for Saying Support for Repeal Was ‘Very Impressive by Any Standard’ – by Not Counting Democrats

‘If You Look at It, 48 – 4. That’s a Pretty Impressive Vote by Any Standard’

For the second time in just days President Donald Trump has decided lying to put a positive spin on a disastrous result is the way to go. On Sunday the President responded to a Washington Post/ABC News poll by calling it “almost 40%” and “not bad at this time.” He actually was referring to his 36% approval rating, which is literally the lowest “at this time” of any president recorded in U.S. history.

Tuesday afternoon President Trump pulled another fast one, nearly akin to his claim after the election that he won the popular vote.

In addition to winning the Electoral College in a landslide, I won the popular vote if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally.” Literally none of those statements are true. His Electoral College win was not a “landslide” by any means.

“Trump’s margin of victory ranked 46th out of 58 U.S. presidential elections,” the nonpartisan FactCheck.org reported at the time.

“The vote would have been pretty close to, if you look at it, 48 – 4. That’s a pretty impressive vote by any standard,” Trump told reporters of the now-failed attempt to repeal and replace ObamaCare. Trump literally is refusing to count the 48 Democratic and independent Senators who all would have voted “no,” and claimed there were only four Republicans who would also have voted against the legislation – in truth there were likely at the very least several more.

But regardless, 48 out of 100 Senators is far from pretty impressive by any standard,” and Twitter made sure they let the president know:
