Trump Tells the World it’s ‘Time to Move Forward’ With Country That Worked to Undermine U.S. Democracy
Attacks Obama, Contradicts His Secretary of State
Donald Trump took to Twitter early Sunday morning to tell the world that it’s now time for the United States “to move forward in working constructively†with the country that 17 U.S. government intelligence agencies have unanimously agreed worked to undermine our democracy.
Following the G20 summit in Hamburg, the president broke with tradition and opted not to hold a press conference at the G20 summit in Hamburg—leaving other world leaders, like Russian President Vladimir Putin, to address matters concerning the United States.Â
Now, back on American soil, Trump turned to Twitter to defend his long-running meeting with Putin:
“I strongly pressed President Putin twice about Russian meddling in our election,†Trump wrote. “He vehemently denied it. I’ve already given my opinion…â€
“…We negotiated a ceasefire in parts of Syria which will save lives,†he continued. “Now it is time to move forward in working constructively with Russia!â€

Trump then discussed working with Putin to form “an impenetrable Cyber Security unit,†to guard against “election hacking, & many other negative things,†quickly turning to an attack on the DNC, President Barack Obama and “Fake News.â€

…and safe. Questions were asked about why the CIA & FBI had to ask the DNC 13 times for their SERVER, and were rejected, still don’t….

…have it. Fake News said 17 intel agencies when actually 4 (had to apologize). Why did Obama do NOTHING when he had info before election?

The president then contradicted his own Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, who reportedly told reporters that Trump told Putin that U.S. lawmakers were pushing for new Russian sanctions:
Sanctions were not discussed at my meeting with President Putin. Nothing will be done until the Ukrainian & Syrian problems are solved!

Finally, Trump posted a video compiling photographs from G20, complete with the ‘Make America Great Again’ song composed and performed by the extremist megachurch headed by far right wing Christian extremist Robert Jeffress.
