Trump Returns to D.C. (Briefly) to Appear with Pastor That’s Linked Gays to Pedophilia and His ‘Many Evangelical Friends’

Follows Advertisement with Today’s Second Attack on Free Press

Donald Trump, currently on a weekend getaway (his 33rd visit to one of his golf courses since taking office 23 weeks ago) will return to D.C. to attend the “Celebrate Freedom Concert” with Robert Jeffress, the megachurch pastor well-known for his vehemently disgusting homophobia.  Following the event, the president will return to his golf course.

The president took to Twitter for the second time today, this time to advertise the concert. “Getting [ready] to leave for tonight’s Celebrate Freedom Concert honoring our GREAT VETERANS w/ so many of my evangelical friends,” Trump wrote. “See you soon!”

Of note, “including a tribute to our veterans” is indeed indicated far below, and far less prominently than, Donald Trump and the anti-gay pastor. Jeffress is the only “evangelical friend” to share billing on the event’s flyer with Trump.

The concert, Trump’s attendance and his advertisement of it continues the president’s track record of pandering for the evangelical vote, particularly after he opted to ignore Pride Month. Jeffress has linked homosexuality to both pedophilia and disease.

“What [homosexuals] do is filthy. It is so degrading that is beyond description,” Jeffress has previously said. “And it is their filthy behavior that explains why they are so much more prone to disease.”

“Amazingly, some gay activists don’t try to hide the link between homosexuality and pedophilia,” the pastor has also said. “There are a disproportionate amount of assaults against children by homosexuals… and the reason is clear: homosexuality is perverse; it represents a degradation of a person’s mind.”

Jeffress also led a prayer session for Donald Trump prior to his inauguration, has frequently praised the president, visited the White House to share a Kodak moment with the president in May, and even called him “the most faith-friendly president in history.”

Following his advertisement of tonight’s concert, Donald Trump resumed his attack on the free press, boasting that he won the election despite the “fake and fraudulent news media” and further attacking CNN.

It remains unclear what the president’s “many evangelical friends” would think of his subsequent attacks.

‘Propaganda’: Bloomberg Destroyed for Posting ‘Deep Fake’ ‘Hoax’ Clip of His Debate Performance to Make Him Look Better

‘In a Climate of Wildfire Misinformation, This Is Super Irresponsible’

Billionaire Mike Bloomberg‘s performance at Wednesday night’s Democratic debate was by most accounts at best terrible, but that didn’t stop the campaign from pushing out a fake, doctored, and highly-edited clip suggesting the other candidates on stage were silenced by a claim he made.

“I’m the only one here I think that’s ever started a business,” Bloomberg said during the debate, as this actual clip shows.

But in the Bloomberg clip, his remarks are followed by 20 seconds of very uncomfortable presidential candidates being stunned into silence – including actual crickets chirping – by his attack.

Watch: Roger Stone Greeted With Shouts of ‘Traitor’ as He Enters DC Courthouse for Sentencing

Trump confidant and former campaign advisor Roger Stone arrived at a D.C. courthouse minutes before 9 AM, greeted by repeated shouts of “traitor!” as he walked to the door.

Stone is expected to be sentenced by Judge Amy Berman Jackson, who has been targeted with criticism and harassment by President Donald Trump and his MAGA supporters.

Last week all four federal prosecutors quit the case after Attorney General Bill Barr intervened to reduce their sentencing recommendation, just hours after Trump posted an angry tweet.

Stone was convicted on all seven felony counts, including witness tampering and lying to Congress.

In Face to Face Confrontation Susan Rice Slams John Bolton on Impeachment: ‘I Can’t Imagine Withholding My Testimony’

Susan Rice confronted John Bolton face to face over his failure to testify in President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial.

Rice, who served as former President Barack Obama’s national security adviser, shared a stage Wednesday with Trump’s former national security adviser at Vanderbilt University, and she confronted Bolton over keeping quiet about his concerns over Ukraine, reported The Guardian.

“I can’t imagine withholding my testimony with or without a subpoena,” Rice said. “I would feel like I was shamefully violating the oath that I took to defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic.”

Bolton had refused to testify during the House impeachment inquiry, but said last month he would testify in the Senate trial, if subpoenaed — but Republican senators unsurprisingly voted against hearing from new witnesses.

“I said I would testify if subpoenaed,” Bolton told Rice. “My position is exactly the same as Joe Biden.”

Rice quickly slapped back.

“Except Joe Biden didn’t have firsthand knowledge about what transpired with Ukraine,” she said.

“When I was the sitting national security advisor in 2016, I was called to testify in front of the House select committee about Benghazi,” Rice said. “The last thing I wanted to do was take time away from my duty as national security adviser. But I did so voluntarily, I wasn’t subpoenaed.”

The university did not live stream the event or post audio of the exchange online, but the Vanderbilt Hustler student newspaper reported on the exchange, in addition to other reporters in attendance.
