Trump Defends Son’s Russia Meeting, Attacks Clinton, Media for ‘Distorting Democracy’ in Latest Twitter Tantrum

Says Trump Jr. ‘Scorned’ by ‘Fake News Media’

Donald Trump, expected to spend his third straight day today watching the women’s golf tournament at his club in New Jersey, began his latest Twitter tantrum at 6:35 AM Sunday morning.

Although it’s been 177 days since Trump became president, he began his day by attacking his Democratic presidential opponent Hillary Clinton and defending his son’s ever-evolving meeting last summer with “Russian government attorney” Natalia Veselnitskaya, Paul Manafort, Jared Kushner and reportedly, four others.

“HillaryClinton can illegally get the questions to the Debate & delete 33,000 emails but my son Don is being scorned by the Fake News Media?” Trump wrote:

He then turned back to women’s golf, thanking his supporters “who far out-numbered the protesters,” something the President of the United States called “very cool!”

Trump then thanked former campaign adviser Michael Caputo, who testified before the House Intelligence Committee on Friday in closed session, for “saying so powerfully that there was no Russian collusion in our winning campaign.”

According to CBS, Caputo said that he “had no contact with Russians and… never heard of anyone in the Trump campaign talking with Russians.” Caputo lived in Russia in the 1990s, and has previously said Russian President Vladimir Putin “wasn’t such a bad guy.”

Finally, Trump’s ire returned to the media, “with all of its phony unnamed sources & highly slanted & even fraudulent reporting,” ultimately advising that “#Fake News is DISTORTING DEMOCRACY in our country!”

It should be noted that Donald Trump Jr. was a source on the scrutiny he and the Trump administration have faced this week. Additionally, the president has himself frequently used “unnamed sources,” as seen below:
