Sarah Huckabee Sanders Berates Democratic Senators Over Republicans’ Failure to Repeal ObamaCare

‘That Sort of Behavior, I Think, Is Unacceptable’ Says Deputy White House Press Secretary

Sarah Huckabee Sanders is berating Democratic Senators for what she claims is their refusal to “join in fixing the health care problems” and repealing ObamaCare. The Deputy White House Press Secretary neglected to mention that most Republicans in both the House and the Senate – not to mention every single Democrat – were banned by congressional leadership from having any input, or even seeing drafts of bills to repeal and replace ObamaCare.

“Democrats have refused to join in fixing the health care problems that have plagued our health care system, specifically, in large part due to ObamaCare,” Huckabee Sanders told reporters in yet another off-camera press briefing Tuesday afternoon. She added, “that sort of behavior, I think, is unacceptable.”

In reality, Republicans for many years refused to even acknowledge the U.S. health care system was in deep trouble until ObamaCare was finally passed. Their current goal is to fully repeal ObamaCare, and some Republican lawmakers would be satisfied with resetting the clock to just before ObamaCare became law.

Meanwhile, Democrats have tried for years to improve ObamaCare, but Republicans have refused, preferring to do everything in their power to destroy the Affordable Care Act.

Huckabee Sanders also falsely claimed Tuesday that if ObamaCare “fails,” Democrats “will be more willing to come to the table to help clean up the mess.”

If ObamaCare were to fail, tens of thousands of people each year would die, according to studies. 

Asked who is responsible for the failure of the Republican-controlled Senate to repeal and replace ObamaCare, and then to simply repeal it, Huckabee Sanders answered, “I would say Democrats. They’re responsible.” It’s unclear how she could think that.

Asked to explain how she could think that, Huckabee Sanders responded that Democrats are “responsible for passing ObamaCare, they’re responsible for creating the mess that we’re in, they’re responsible for refusing to with with Republicans in any capacity.”

“Hopefully now that ObamaCare is ready to completely collapse, maybe they’ll decide they want to be part of this process.”

Again, Huckabee Sanders’ lies are just embarrassing at the point.
