PEOPLE Report: Donald Trump Jr Is ‘Miserable’ and ‘Afraid’ of ‘Macho’ Father
‘They Would Never Speak Against Their Dad. They’re Too Afraid of Him Because He’s So Macho’ Trump Brothers’ Friend Says
PEOPLE Magazine is looking at life inside the Trump family’s children, and reports eldest son Donald Jr. is “miserable.”
A close friend of both Donald Jr., and Eric Trump, tells the magazine: “The loyalty within this family is insane. They would never speak against their dad. They’re too afraid of him because he’s so macho.”
Adds the source in the brothers’ circle, “You can’t bite the hand that feeds you, but he [Don Jr.] can’t wait for these four years to be over.â€
PEOPLE executive editor Sara Nathan says the magazine’s story looks at the “strategy behind this family’s power trip.” In the video above she also says the three Trump family children grew up being “pitted against each other.”
Calling the Trump family’s culture “ruthless,” today’s online article says, “Donald Trump taught his children to fight dirty and win, no matter the cost.”
“He doesn’t like failure and mistakes, and he doesn’t accept them,†says a source who has had business dealings with Trump. “You have to justify your existence to be in his realm.â€Â
The report claims “Don Jr. has had a harder time adapting to life after the election,” being, as Nathan says, “relegated” to New York City’s Trump Tower while Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, have White House offices.
Adds a source in their circle: “Don can’t do any deals, because he’ll be overly scrutinized. He just goes to work every day and is miserable.â€
That last claim is subject to some fact-checking. The Trump Organization has done several “deals” since Donald Trump became president.
“The Trump Organization has said it is moving ahead on 39 different deals for hotels around the country,” ProPublica reports Tuesday. “But the company hasn’t said where the hotels will be or who the Trumps will be partnering with.”
