Obama Still Listed as President on White House’s U.S. Citizenship Welcome Letter

St. Louis Post-Dispatch columnist Aisha Sultan celebrated her British-born husband’s newfound American citizenship on Twitter yesterday, sharing the customary welcome letter he’d received from the President of the United States.

Nearly seven months after Donald Trump assumed the presidency, however, the document was “signed” by former President Barack Obama.

“We embrace you as a new citizen of our land,” the letter reads, signed by Obama. “And we welcome you to the American family.”
