Kushner’s Latest Amended Form, Ivanka’s First Show Benefits From Business Empire of up to $761 Million

Kushner ‘Inadvertently Omitted’ 77 Assets

New and updated financial disclosures show that Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump are benefitting from their business empire worth up to $761 million while serving in the White House.

Kushner’s updated filings listed 77 previously-undisclosed assets and more than $10 million in previously-unreported holdings that he “inadvertently omitted.”

As Politico reported:

Kushner’s newly-reported disclosures revealed that he had sold interest in a New Jersey mall, that he no longer had stake in a company with interest in a Ohio property, that he had a stake worth between $5 to $25 million in a holding company that owned an online real estate investment platform named Cadre and that he owned artwork ranging in worth from $5 million to $25 million.

His wife, first daughter Ivanka Trump, meanwhile, disclosed assets worth at least $66 million and an income of at least $13.5 million from last year in separate documents filed Friday.

“Ivanka Trump or her trust received at least 12.6 million since early 2016 from her various business ventures and has an arrangement to guarantee her at least $1.5 million a year even as she serves in a top White House position,” The New York Times also reported yesterday, perhaps in part prompting some of Donald Trump’s latest Twitter tantrum this morning.

Kushner’s update also follows reports that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has extended the Russia investigation to the finances and business dealings of the president’s son-in-law.

A former chief ethics officer for the Federal Election Commission told the NYT that there “still may be financial ties that we don’t know about,” noting that the disclosures “weren’t meant to deal with a situation where somebody’s going to keep a major business interest.”

“Jared and Ivanka have followed each of the required steps in their transition from private citizens to federal officials,” Jamie Gorelick, the attorney advising the duo on ethics matters, released in a statement.

“The Office of Government Ethics has certified Jared’s financial disclosure, reflectings its determination that his approach complies with federal ethics laws,” he continued. “Ivanka’s financial disclosure is still in the pre-certification stage, as she began the process later.”

The head of the Office of Government Ethics recently resigned after tangling with the Trump administration.
