Internet Mocks Trump for Saying He ‘Can Be More Presidential Than Any President’ Except Lincoln

‘You Have the Class and Charisma of a Hot Pocket’

At a campaign rally in Ohio President Donald Trump told the people of Youngstown he can be “more presidential” than anyone in American history, except Lincoln. He also insisted that he has been more productive and successful than almost any other president in their first six months. All of those claims are false.

“It is much easier to act presidential than what we are doing here tonight, believe me,” President Trump told the cheering crowd. “With the exception of the late, great Abraham Lincoln, I can be more presidential than any president that’s ever held this office.”

Trump insisted that acting presidential will not get the job done.

“I think that with few exceptions, no president has done anywhere near what we’ve done in his first six months. Not even close,” Trump claimed.

On CNN, former Republican Rep. David Jolly disputed Trump’s claims, saying the president is “missing the lessons of history,” and “those we consider ‘presidential’ have earned it, not declared it. He offered as examples Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR), John F Kennedy during the Cuban missile crisis, and Ronald Reagan in Berlin.

“Seventy percent of Americans said in a poll last week that they think Trump’s actions since the inauguration have not been presidential,” The Hill reports.

“So far,” CNN adds, “Trump’s 2020 campaign is already up and running, already raising money and hosting events across the country, including campaign events headlined by the president in Tennessee, Kentucky, Pennsylvania and Iowa.”

Raw Story notes CNN’s Don Lemon laughed out loud watching Trump claim to be “more presidential.”

On Twitter, many were quick to express their thoughts about just how “presidential” President Trump is.
