President Trump Just Called for ObamaCare to Fail, Which Would Kill Tens of Thousands of Americans Every Year

Despite Having Control of House, Senate, and Being President, Trump ‘Blames’ Democrats for His ObamaCare Repeal Failure

President Donald Trump, unable to take responsibility or blame for anything, has just blamed Democrats — and a few Republicans — for the failure of the Senate to pass a bill to repeal and replace ObamaCare. The Republicans’ attempts collapsed late Monday night, when two more Republican Senators announced they could not support the GOP legislation because it didn’t go far enough.

President Barack Obama spent over a year touring the nation to sell the Affordable Care Act, but President Trump has barely lifted a finger leaving almost all the work to the Republican majority in the House and Senate.

Early Tuesday morning, as he always does President Trump took to Twitter to try to revise the events of there past twelve hours.

“We were let down by all of the Democrats and a few Republicans. Most Republicans were loyal, terrific & worked really hard. We will return!” Trump tweeted.

Of course, it should go without saying, but Democrats worked very hard to protect ObamaCare. The majority of the nation supports the law and wants Congress to improve it, not repeal it. In fact, less than one in four Americans want ObamaCare repealed.

And then, stunningly unconscious of the human cost to his latest “solution,” Trump again announced, “As I have always said, let ObamaCare fail and then come together and do a great healthcare plan. Stay tuned!”

Letting ObamaCare fail, not that it is about to, would throw an additional 32 million people off health care. It would skyrocket the deficit by hundreds of billions of dollars. Forced to obtain employer-sponsored health care coverage, it would force countless small business owners to shut down and their employees out of work. People who are semi-retired would also be forced into the employment marketplace, skyrocketing unemployment.

That’s just for starters.

Studies show that tens of thousands of people would die.

“Nearly 36,000 people could die every year, year after year, if the incoming president signs legislation repealing the Affordable Care Act,” ThinkProgress reported in December.

In January, President-elect Trump promised universal health care, health care coverage for all, regardless of cost:
