‘Were You Giving Our Country Away?’
Chelsea Clinton isn’t mincing words. The former first daughter responded to an embarrassingly false claim from President Donald Trump Monday morning with an epic yet dignified smack down.
Trump went on a wild, flailing, early morning tweetstorm Monday, posting ten tweets of varying veracity in a matter of a few hours.
In one of them Trump falsely claimed it was “very standard” to have the first daughter, Ivanka Trump, sit in for him at thew G-20. Ivanka is also an unpaid advisor to the president.
“When I left Conference Room for short meetings with Japan and other countries, I asked Ivanka to hold seat. Very standard. Angela M agrees!” Trump tweeted, referring to German Chancellor Angela Merkel. It is not “very standard,” by many reputable accounts.
“If Chelsea Clinton were asked to hold the seat for her mother,as her mother gave our country away, the Fake News would say CHELSEA FOR PRES!” Trump then tweeted. That is just plain fantasy.
Chelsea Clinton didn’t hold back.
