BREAKING: Scaramucci Out as Communications Director

Fired.

Ten days after naming Wall Street hedge fund manager Anthony Scaramucci as his Communications Director, President Donald Trump removed him from the position. Reports vary as to when Scaramucci’s position became effective, but in the short time since he was named he descended into unhinged attacks on White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon, and the now-fired and former White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus.

Scaramucci’s sale of his hedge fund to China has yet to be approved, making his working in the White House a tremendous scandal.

“President Trump has decided to remove Anthony Scaramucci from his position as communications director, three people close to the decision said Monday, relieving him just days after Mr. Scaramucci unloaded a crude verbal tirade against other senior members of the president’s senior staff,” The New York Times first reported.

The decision to remove Mr. Scaramucci, who had boasted about reporting directly to the president not the chief of staff, John F. Kelly, came at Mr. Kelly’s request, the people said. Mr. Kelly made clear to members of the White House staff at a meeting Monday morning that he is in charge,” the Times adds.

The announcement of Scaramucci as Communications Director led to Sean Sicer’s resignation as Press Secretary. Spicer’s last day is in August.

UPDATE I 2:54 PM EDT –
MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle called in to Katy Tur’s show saying she spoke with Scaramucci Sunday evening and he had “no idea” his firing was coming.

“Anthony did the dirty work for what a lot of people wanted done,” she added, referring to the firing of Reince Priebus. Katy Tur said she spoke with Scaramucci this morning and he said he would be happy to report to new Chief of Staff John Kelly.
