Amidst Criticism of Putin Defense, Trump Marks U.S. Return with 37th Day at Golf Club, 51st Visit to Trump Property (Video)
“We Might As Well Just Mail Our Ballot Boxes to Moscowâ€
Donald Trump marked his return to the United States today with his 37th visit to a golf club and 51st to a Trump property.
The visit followed his early morning Twitter tirade calling for the U.S. to work constructively with Russia, the country that 17 U.S. government intelligence agencies have unanimously agreed worked to undermine our democracy.
And while the president who notoriously advised he would “rarely leave the White House because there’s so much work to be done†opted to do just that, Republicans and Democrats mounted their criticism of Trump’s Putin defense.
Senator Lindsey Graham, on NBC’s “Meet the Press,†called Trump’s meeting with Putin disastrous – further advising that Trump’s decision to work with Russia on cybersecurity was “pretty close†to the “dumbest idea†he’d ever heard:  Â

Senator Marco Rubio took to Twitter to denounce the idea, likening the idea to working with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad:
We have no quarrel with Russia or the Russian people. Problem is with Putin & his oppression, war crimes & interference in our elections 1/3

Partnering with Putin on a “Cyber Security Unit” is akin to partnering with Assad on a “Chemical Weapons Unit”. 2/3

On CBS’ “Face the Nation,†Senator John McCain laughed at the idea, noting that Vladimir Putin “is the one doing the hacking.â€

Adam Schiff, Ranking Member of the House Intelligence Community, asked “what kind of ‘tough negotiator’ goes into talks undermining his country’s own position,†joining CNN’s “State of the Union.â€
“We might as well just mail our ballot boxes to Moscow,†Schiff said:
