‘Tweet-Storming’: Furious Over Inappropriate Trump Speech to Boy Scouts Twitter Creates #TrumpScoutBadges

‘Outsourcing’

Monday afternoon President Donald Trump traveled to West Virginia to address 40,000 Boy Scouts at the 2017 National Scout Jamboree. In hindsight, perhaps we should have seen it coming, but much of America was surprised and outraged that the President of the United States would swear in front of children. We were surprised he would encourage children to attack a former U.S. President and Secretary of State. We were stunned when he spent what felt like hours touting his electoral college win. We were angered when he attacked the “fake news” media and took credit for the “massive” crowd.

Parents and grandparents, some from families with generations of Scouts, took to social media to demand the Boy Scouts of America apologize or issue some statement denouncing the President’s remarks and behavior. It did not, sans a short note saying they are a non-partisan organization. They threatened to stop donations, or to pull their children from the Boy Scouts. The degree of personal pain was palpable.

In response to the Trump madness, Twitter created #TrumpScoutBadges.

Take a look and enjoy. Just don’t try to earn these at home:
