‘Not Bad’: Trump Responds to Poll Showing Lowest Six-Month Approval of any POTUS in 70 Years
Calls 36% Approval “Almost 40%â€
A new poll released today found that Donald Trump has the lowest six-month approval rating of any president in the past 70 years.
The ABC News/Washington Post poll found that only 36 percent of Americans approve of Trump’s job performance at or near the six-month mark, which as ABC pointed out is “down six points from his 100-day mark, itself a low.â€
Gerald Ford, in 1975, is the closest to this level at 39%:

Trump, who is reportedly spending his third consecutive day watching the women’s golf tournament at his club in New Jersey, took to Twitter for the second time today to respond to the poll’s publication.
“The ABC/Washington Post Poll, even though almost 40% is not bad at this time,†the president wrote of the 36% approval rating, “was just about the most inaccurate poll around election time!â€

As some have pointed out:
1- 36 is not really “almost” 40
2- 36 is the worst in 70 years
2- WaPo poll correctly predicted Clinton would win national popular vote https://t.co/LwZa2p8wx2— Dan Eggen (@DanEggenWPost) July 16, 2017
—Not “almost 40%,” it’s 36%, lowest 6-month approval of any POTUS dating back 70 yrs
