“There is Not an Investigation of the President of the United States, Period”

Donald Trump awoke early this morning to again tweet about Robert Mueller’s criminal investigation of the president, but despite that fact, one of his attorneys appeared on “Meet the Press” to insist he isn’t under investigation.

Donald Trump himself has confirmed that he is under investigation.

After host Chuck Todd inquired why the president didn’t embrace Robert Mueller’s investigation “if he’s innocent,” an attorney for the president, Jay Sekulow, began playing defense. 

Sekulow avoided the question and reviewed his concerns about the media, while boasting about Donald Trump’s social media following and defending his Twitter habit. When pressed again, Sekulow responded, “He’s not afraid of the investigation. There is no investigation.” 

“I wanna be clear here,” he continued, eventually asserting that “there is not an investigation of the President of the United States. Period.”
