Sarah Huckabee Sanders Defends Trump: The American People ‘Knew What They Were Getting and He Won Overwhelmingly’
Says There’s a War on Trump, He Gets ‘Personally Attacked’ Every Day, So It’s OK for Him to Fight Back
Sarah Huckabee Sanders defiantly defended President Donald Trump over his tweets attacking MSNBC journalist Mika Brzezinski. Sanders tried to deflect questions from journalists, going so far as to bring up God to support her defense of the President.
“The American people elected a fighter, they didn’t elect somebody to sit back and do nothing,†Huckabee Sanders said in defense of Trump.

“When he gets attacked he’s going to hit back,” she said. “He fights fire with fire.” Stunningly, she called what the president said “defending himself.”Â

She also claimed the American people “knew what they were getting when they voted for Donald Trump,†and added that “he won overwhelmingly,” which is false.

“The only person I see a war on is this president and everybody that works for him,” she also claimed:

But it was this series of questions that was beyond compare.
Asked how, as a woman, she feels about the President attacking another woman, especially for her looks, and “what does that show for how men should be treating other women?”
Huckabee Sanders responded with great immaturity:Â “What about the constant attacks he receives?”

And then this, from the same reporter:
“Are you going to tell your kids this behavior is okay?”
Â
“As a person of faith, I think we all have one perfect role model, and when I’m asked that question, I point to God, I point to my faith, and that’s where I would tell my kids to look.” Huckabee Sanders responded.
